Earth Day

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, which is meant to "inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment". Eh wait, you mean to say we are only supposed to be aware and appreciative of our environment, just for today? So what if the bloddy factories stop spewing smog into the air for just one day; so what if the oil rigs stop drilling for just one day; so what if the loggers stop hacking the trees in the Amazon for just one day; so what if 50% of car owners choose to take the public transport or cycle to work for just one day?

Don't get me wrong though, I love the environment and really hope that people could do more to not fark it up. The only thing that I do not understand is how people 'turn green' for a day and for the remaining 364 days of the year, they do not bother. If we screw up this planet, where do we go next aye?

Anyways, I thought this track by Tower of Power suits the occasion extremely well. Tower of Power is a soul and funk band from Oakland, California. Tower of Power was formed in 1968 and up till this date, they are still feeding the funk & soul starved population, with even more sweet tunes and high energy live performances.
