Mulatu Astatke

Currently, I am hooked to two tracks. My will has surrendered against not putting the two tracks on loop because it is simply too good. Both tracks are from Mulatu Astatke, the father of Ethiopian Jazz. To think, just last year, I did not really know how to appreciate Ethiopian Jazz and it was only a few months after, that I realised the true beauty of the music.

Unfortunately, I was not able to find a video of the track "Ebo Lala", which is a real pity, because the music draws your mind and soul into it and it is pure magic.

On the other hand, we cannot tell you how anxious we are, as we (im)patiently wait for the Timeless DVD Boxsets to arrive in our humble mailbox. If you hadn't known already, it features Mulatu Astatke, Arthur Verocai and J Dilla's Suite for Ma Dukes. It is gonna be dope. = )
