Time really flies! The only Funk/Soul night in Singapore is celebrating its 5th birthday this Friday! The guys at Pushin' On has always been dutiful in its mission in spreading the Funk and keeping it fresh for the people. So the guys of the Pushin' On brigade cordially invite one and all to join them in the revelry as they fire the 21 Funk gun salute on their 5th anniversary party.

I never thought I would ever say this when I started DJing years ago, but DJ Shellsuit and special guest, DJ Koflow will be dropping vinyls only. It is a freestyle set, so it is pretty much anything and everything goes! Be prepared for guest DJs and 'live' acts which would make your heart beat faster than it should, like your old Regimental Sergeant Major! It's gonna be awesome! = )

So if you are sick of all the trash you hear on the radio or the telly and you are free and just wanna have a great time, come on down this Friday to celebrate Pushin' On's birthday yeah? You won't be disappointed, for a Pushin' On gig is all about being open, letting your hair down and just boogie all night long. = )

The name needs no introduction. One half of the Cosa Nostra duo, Funk Bast*rd has left indelible marks on many dancefloors with his genre-bending sets of funk, soul, dancefloor jazz, brazillian, afro, dub, deep house, boogie and anything cosmic in between. If you got the groove, you will feel where this selector is coming from.

With no explanation where the name Chunk comes from, we suspect it refers to a well-fed childhood. Whatever it is, these days it’s just the beats that are heavy. Kicking drums and funky bass are the order of the day when Chunk is on the decks.

Compulsive record digger and music nut, this Pushin’On resident’s sets cover anything from reggae to rap to rockabilly. On a special freestyle vinyl-only set with Koflow, anything could and probably will happen.

Aidan Bamrah | Bamrah Brothers
One half of the brilliant Bamrah brothers, Aidan is a talented rhythmist who specialises in Afro-Brazilian and Funk and has shared the stage with the likes of Billy Cobham, Johnny Kalsi, Chico Cesar and Wicked Aura. Catch his percussive brilliance and infectious energy as he collaborates with the DJs into the night.

Masterpiece & the Lion City Orchestra
‘Live’ funk returns to Pushin’On with Masterpiece & the Lion City Orchestra. Since their debut in 2008 as the house band of Pushin’On, the LCO has championed the timeless sounds of raw funk and soul from the 60’s all the way to the new decade. Check out the new LCO line-up in a furiously funky 1-hour set with;
