Holga D

I have to admit, I love photography but I am not a huge fan of the whole Lomography craze. To me, Lomography is (and should be) a mentality but it gets a lil too overhyped and people get too caught up with the brand name, so much so that they forget the essence of it. However, a friend passed me this link to check out and my oh my, I think I've got the buyer's itch.

The Holga D is a concept design by industrial designer, Saikat Biswas. The Holga D is a digital camera (hence the 'D') and staying true to its Holga roots, it is minimal in features. I am seriously digging the minimalistic look of the camera and one interesting feature of this camera is that it caters to the needs of lefties (the writing hand, not the political ideals). All you have to do is remove the top panel and position the shutter release key to the left. It might be a relatively small detail but it is a great feature.

You can find out more about the Holga D here.

A pity it is only a concept for now. Hopefully, the demand for it catches on and we might just see it in stores in time to come.
