These days, it gets pretty depressing when I watch the news or read the papers. The past few weeks have been a tumultuous one for people in the region. Typhoon Ketsana ravaged Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines, while earthquakes terrorised the Pacific Islands and Indonesia. Both natural disasters have left thousands dead and countless displaced from their homes.
Just when everybody think that it is over, people in the region are facing water-borne diseases, tremors and tsunamis. One of the worst hit countries, the Philippines, face the danger of another typhoon, Typhoon Lupit, after being hit by 2 typhoons, Typhoon Ketsana and Typhoon Parma.
Many have lost their lives, their families and the worse is still not over for most of them. I appeal to you please, if you can in any way, offer your help, be it through donations of monies, food, clothes, medical supplies etc. I believe it will go a long way for our brethrens in need.
There is way too much hate in this world already, we got to spread the love. If we do not help our own in times like this, then I wonder who else would. For more information on how you may help, please visit your local Red Cross/Red Crescent for more details. Thank you.
My condolences to those who have lost their families and homes.
