Autechre Radio Mix - Mar 1997

I have been getting into Autechre and Aphex Twin quite a bit, especially after seeing Aphex Twin at the Esplanade this year. Definitely one of the more memorable gigs I have been to. I was introduced to Aphex Twin and Autechre by my friend back in 2002 or 2003 but I wasn't into it.

It was after we (monobono and I) started to try our hand at producing music that I started to see what the fuss with both those artists was about. Looking up for more info on them and how they produce (Autechre was kind enough to share but good luck finding Aphex Twin's; if you do, please share!) got me more interested in their work, especially the generative midi part (they do more than that – modding samplers, synths, write their own programs to manipulate sounds etc). Sonic wise, it's really amazing how they deconstruct music and sounds.

Another interesting thing about Autechre is their musical background – early electro, hip hop, graffiti and acid. Check out their mix for FACT Magazine – FACT Mix 122. to get an idea of their influences.

Here is the Autechre Radio Mix which was released as a CD Promo. Thanks to +dB for posting it.
