OPERATION: DOOMSDAY

First up, I would like to apologise for the lack of updates due to an extremely hectic schedule but no worries, we're back again. = )

What better way to get the blog rolling again and it's none other than MF DOOM's first complete version of his debut album, OPERATION: DOOMSDAY.

The news for this release has been out for quite some time, with the CD set and digital album already released. However, the 4 LP set was the one which I was eagerly waiting for and had my eyes on.

In true MF DOOM style, there is always something to look forward to. Doing away with the typical cardboard record sleeves, the 4 LP vinyl set comes in a slick circular case, resembling a film reel case, with MF DOOM's ubiquitous Metalface logo imprinted on the front.

Of course, the packaging is merely the icing on the cake. The tracks in this album has the signature and style of MF DOOM written all over it: Abstract lyrics over gritty, lo-fi beats. What more can a man ask for?

MF DOOM has always been one of my favourite Hip Hop artiste, ever since I heard his stuff years ago. His gritty sound is still an attraction for me, especially in an age where the music is just way too clean. I am looking forward to getting a copy and I highly recommend that you should too. = )

For more information, or if you wish to purchase this album, please do check out Stones Throw. = )
