Thanks & Appreciation 2010

So, the last few hours of 2010 are slowly ticking away, as we await the arrival of 2011. The year has been surprisingly very good to me and it would not have been possible without some of you out there. I truly appreciate the guidance, help and inspiration which you all have given me, all of which culminated in an awesome 2010 for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. = )

Besides the thanks and the appreciation, I would just like to bring up another point just before the year slips away. I have been thinking about this for awhile but I just could not find the time to write it down and coincidentally, someone whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for mentioned it just the other day.

What truly defines a great musician/performing artiste?

Some would say technical abilities and others, number of records sold, number of fans etc. The answer would tremendously differ depending on who you ask. However, there is only one answer for me: The ability to inspire others. I have never thought much about it before but this year, certain events which happened set me thinking.

I realised that the people who truly inspire me are not those who are able to sell millions of records, make millions a year, have a huge fan base, who are flashy etc etc. Those who truly inspired me are the ones who are able to transform negativity into positivity and strength, to keep on pushin' and not give up even in the face of adversity and regardless of the situations, are more than glad to help and guide the newer cats, the proper way. In a nutshell, they are the ones who have so much passion, spirit and are not afraid to share their skills and knowledge, even if it means going out of their way to help. In the words of a close friend of mine, you can't knock their hustle. Enough said.

Alright, to finish up this post, I would just like to say a very big thank you to all who helped me one way or the other and also, those who took the time to check out whatever stuff which we have posted up. From us at The Mighty Souls, we would like to wish family, friends and all of you out there, have a Happy New Year and may 2011 bring you good health, well-being, knowledge, great opportunities and most importantly, great happiness.
