Reflections

First up, I truly apologise for the lack of posting these days, due to hectic schedules and all, it has been a busy month so far.

It is 9 days to a whole new year and usually, December has always been a time of reflection for me as the year comes to an end. This post has been long overdue and yeah, just wanna share certain things, so do bear with me alright? = )

You know, it is human nature to always complain about how things should be or shouldn't be. There are things or situations which really makes you tick and drives you up the wall at times. I am pretty sure most of us would have experienced scenarios like that. Over the years, I learnt an important lesson and it still holds true till this day (and hopefully, till I breathe my last). In the words of the great Mahatma Gandhi: 'Be the change you want to see in the world'.

I have to admit, probably in this lifetime or even the next few, I will never be anything close to great people like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa or Che Guevara. Even if I try to exercise my full ability, I will never change the world. While that is true, I never resign myself to that fate of not being able to change anything. You see, I never aspired to be a legend or a great, but I would be content as long as my actions or speech, had made a positive impact on a few people out of the thousands that I meet in my lifetime.

In this lifetime, I might never know who I had left a positive impact on, which is why the emphasis on proper actions and speech is crucial. I may not be 100% certain whether right actions or speech may leave a positive impact on a person, but I sure do know that negative actions or speech would leave you having to always watch your back. So yeah, you make the choice.

We all have our faults and vices, which we may have problems trying to control but our actions are solely of our own choice. Ever since we started The Mighty Souls blog, I had a couple of friends who came up to me and said that a certain track which we put up on the blog was great and prior to that, they have never heard of the artiste before. From then, they have been relatively more open to more kinds of music out there, which ain't your usual MTV bullshit. Although it ain't much, I am glad that we had that effect on others.

Alright, enough of the rambling but I do hope that I am making sense, in my half groggy state. To sign off, I just wanna say, while it may be difficult to make that first step, and even harder to constantly remind yourself, it is just about making it a habit, for a clear conscience is better than having to look over shoulder always. = )
