We’re delighted to bring back our annual dance jam, Dance Sucka! The poppers and lockers were some of the earliest supporters of Pushin’On and in recent years we’ve seen the funk dance scene grow into a snowball that even recession and bad weather cannot slow down. Its been taught in most major dance studios and dancers have gone on to compete in Korea, Japan and the US. We always encourage people to dance, but this time you might want to book a massage for the day after.

DJ Shellsuit
This Pushin’On resident knows his funk but few people know his passion for popping. DJ Shellsuit took popping lessons from Michael Sim and was on his way to becoming one of the few DJs who can pop while cueing a record. However, he succumbed to lethargy after 3 lessons and retired on the doctor’s recommendation.

The Mighty Mighty
The cruel hand of fate means Pushin’On has been missing a ‘live’ band for the past few months. That is about to change. The Mighty Mighty returns with a new line-up but the same hard hitting, rare groove vibe. Masterpiece will be on keys and vocals but who are the rest? To find out, catch their ‘live’ collaboration with the dancers from 11pm onwards.

DJ Koflow
It’s a big night for Koflow, with the launch concert for his album ‘The Turntable Instrumentalist’ at The Esplanade earlier in the evening. Pushin’On is the unofficial after-party and Koflow will be hitting the decks after the dance competition. His album will also be on sale at the door so break that piggy bank. Gonzo + Mister Magic
We rewind time on the 3rd floor of Blu Jaz as Gonzo begins his residency. A Gonzo set goes from soul, swing and jazz to rockabilly and shuffle all in one night. His selections for the mature party-goer will keep you bopping like its 68’. Boosting the swing will be long time collaborator Mister Magic. A deep collector of soulful records, a Mister Magic set invites you to take your time and let the tunes soak deep into your heart.
