Friday Aftermath

I took a lil while to get down to writing this cos my hands are sore from the clapping, my legs are aching from the dancing and my head is still groggy, not from the alcohol, but from all that unbelievable fun we had at Koflow's 'The Turntable Instrumentalist' and Pushin' On Crew's 'Dance Again Sucka!' at BluJaz. All the aches & sores were well worth it and is a sign that I truly had an awesome time.

If you had missed Koflow's album launch, all I can say is that, you probably missed out on one of the best live shows of 2010 and the opportunity to catch the best talents in the local scene, 'live' in action. Even though for the front part of the show, the crowd was seated, it did not take long for the energy of the music to catch on with the people. Many in the crowd were bobbing their heads, clapping their hand, tapping their feet and hollering every time they liked what they heard. At certain parts, the crowd was so quiet, not because they did not dig the music but the energy and the vibe was so overwhelming that you could, literally, feel it in the air. The vibe went through the roof when everybody got on their feet and put on their good foot, as they grooved to the infectious beats. Although the performance was short, all in all, everybody left feeling damn bloddy good.

Big ups to the 'live' musicians & artistes, Aya Sekine (Piano), Mohd Noor (Drums), Will Gathright (Bass), Dharni (Beatbox), Kevin Lester (MC), Fendi (Vocalist), Kiat (DJ), Eugene (Visuals) and last but not least, the main man of the night, Koflow. Props to all of you for putting up an impressive performance. = )

I was still buzzing from the great music when we headed down to BluJaz for the after-party, held in conjunction with the Pushin' On Crew's 'Dance Again Sucka!'. When it comes to partying, the Pushin' On Crew never lets you down, in fact they would probably up it by a notch. Up a notch, they definitely did. The amount of great Funk, Soul and classic Hip-Hop they drop on the crowd, makes you feel like you are at the bottom of a Funk Niagara Falls, except that, as the great Bob Marley would say, it hits you but you feel no pain. The concoction of Funk, Soul & Hip-Hop is a great remedy for any moment, as prescribed by the funk doctors of the Pushin' On Crew. You may even get high from it as well and in this case, you won't even get arrested for it because it's all legal! = )

All in all, it was one of the best Friday nights which I had in a long while. Tired & sore, it was more than worth it. = )

So yeah, if you had missed Koflow's album launch and you would really like a copy of his album, you could download it off his website at DJKoflow.com. If you would like to get the CD, so that you can appreciate the well-designed cover by Shellsuit (Pushin' On Crew) in your hands, or literally caress the album with your bare hands for reasons I would not like to know, you can head on down to Terrorkota, SUP or Leftfoot and simply, spend a minimum of $100 at either one of the stores to get yourself a free copy. Great way to support local musicians and local brands.

However, if you really do not feel in the mood to spend, all you have to do is to just ask the store assistant politely and I am sure they would be more than happy to pass you one. Spread the love eh! = )
