Artistes' Profiles
KOFLOW
Hailed as the 'Grandmaster' in 2009 and voted best DJ 2008 by Juice magazine, Singapore's DMC champion 2003 and Thirst Champion 2005 (with many more awards and accolades to his name), Koflow has evolved to become more than just a 'DJ' but a true artist in his craft. He continues to refine his strokes that turn every performance into a true sonic experience. Armed with not only creativity and skills, he also injects knowledge and musicality into his 'live' sets. In the name of music, Koflow has collaborated with jazz musicians, violinists, rock bands and even a 70-strong Samba bateria (percussion group)!
Breaking the confines of turntablism that has taken him far beyond our shores, He has wowed audience and shared the stage with international artistes that include Missy Elliot, The Black Eyed Peas and Kanye West, just to name a few. He also brought his music revolution to numerous festivals such as MTV Pattaya music festival, Pop Village, Floorskillz, Battle of the year, F1 Racing post parties, Siloso Beach Party as well as The Asian Hip Hop Festival in Bangkok. Constantly discovering and experimenting, the only constant with Koflow is his continuous evolution and desire to push the boundaries of music.
DHARNI
Fresh from the World Beatboxing Championship 2009 in Berlin, Germany, Dharni did Singapore proud and was ranked 5th in world (losing only to the world Champion in the semi-finals).
Dharni started beatboxing at the age of 15 in late 2002. He introduced beatboxing to Singapore at age 17 by doing street busking outside Takashimaya on Saturdays. Slowly but surely he created an awareness and ripple in the music industry after only 6 months.
Dharni has shared the stage with many renowned local and international artistes such as Kanye West. As a young artiste with many years ahead of him, Dharni is ready to excite and wow the audiences with his vocal acrobatics.
KEVIN LESTER
Kevin Lester, is a rap artiste, songwriter & producer. He started out in 2002 at "Platform 2". It was at this open mic that Kevin, a Singaporean of Indian-Eurasian
descent, enjoyed positive review and numerous call backs. He continued to create a buzz and scored a featuring role in local sensation, TripleNoize's second album; Noisy Fm.
In 2005 he joined "Bonafide Vintage Flav'r" and had commercial as well as critical success with the release of the E.P. "The BVF Project" featuring the number 1 radio hit "Feels Good". They were nominated in 2006 for local radio station 987fm Best Local Band and Best Local Song of the year.
DJ ROUGH
With a wealth of experience under Rough's belt, he brings out the good fun everyone is yearning for at festivals and events. During his recent outing at the MTV World Stage, although being the only DJ amongst well-known rock bands such as All American Rejects and Kasabian, Rough got the crowd jumping and partying to his infectious beats.
Being a 2001 Singapore DMC Champ and countless wins in DJ battles, be sure to see and hear some quick cuts and turntable trickery, Rough brings the good times back onto the dance floor.
BAMRAH BROTHERS
This duo radiate a fraternal energy that is palpable. With roots in France, India and the UK they are true children of the world, delivering live blends of Funk, Dub and Drum & Bass. DJ Shellsuit and JNR Garcia describe them as "interplanetary" and "auralgasmic."
Aidan Bamrah is a rhythmist who specialises in Afro-Brazilian and Funk and has shared the stage with the likes of Billy Cobham, Johnny Kalsi and Chico Cesar. Fitted-out with his cajon and latin percussions this artiste will play for you with passion.
Stewart Bamrah is the guitarist and didjeridu player of Sonofa. He busked the streets of Europe before tantalizing the dancefloors and now plays with the likes of Riduan Zalani and DJ Koflow.
ROSHAN GIDWANI
Roshan Gidwani is "pure energy personified"! Also known as Rosh G, this artistically inclined MC is a self-professed global child. His unmissable confidence and charisma has been established from an early age having interacted with people from all walks of life. Roshan writes lyrics from a universal standpoint and listeners are invited to embark on a lyrical journey of his travels and adaptation. A citizen of Singapore, Roshan has finally returned.
