Last night, while I was up getting some work done, I suddenly felt an extreme hunger overcoming me. So I got down to making a melted cheese toast with a balsamic vinegar/olive oil dip on the side. It is amazing how something so simple, can bring about a great sense of satisfaction in me. As I was looking out of the window, enjoying my comfort food, something hit me. Cliche as it may be, I realised that we tend to take the simple things in life for granted, especially in a fast paced society of today. A friend once told me, that many people tend to take things around them for granted, till it is gone. The analogy he used, was that the people around us grow on us over time, just like an arm. We do not give much thought about it until when we lose it, then do we realise their importance.
I reckon this is something that many of us do know, but rarely take into account. Sometimes, all that is needed is a little effort, to let those around us know what they mean to us. If it is lost and you manage to get it back, good for you. However, it would be a pity if you lose it and no matter how hard you try, you know that the odds of getting it back is close to nothing. Just a note, live your life without regrets eh. = )
