A couple of months back, a friend showed me a video of a homeless guy beatboxing in the streets of Los Angeles. I was blown away immediately. The beatboxer went by the name of Red. He has immense talent and most importantly, something fresh which many people, including myself, have not heard in a long while.
I decided to check out Red's stuff again and I found out that he has been signed to HVW8 Records. Apparently, he was wandering around and found himself at the HVW8 office. He then decided to do his thang and also, a video of him beatboxing was posted on to Youtube. Word in the streets and the worldwide web, about his talent spread like wildfire. The rest, as they say, is history.
Red - I Should Tell Ya Momma On You
Red - Ghost Ride The Hips
You see, music ain't always just about money or fame. It is about passion and a hope for more good things to come. I am pretty sure that Red has been an inspiration to many people. In a way, he has shown that as long as you have faith and keep on doing what you gotta do, somehow or rather, you can reach where you want to be.
If you dig Red's G-Funk beatboxing style, you may get his record either at HVW8 or Stones Throw.
