Buena Vista Social Club

This video of Buena Vista Social Club, performing the song 'Chan Chan', never fails to amaze and move me. What actually caught me were the expressions on all their faces. Their bright smiles and the fire in their eyes only shows one thing, passion. Pure, unadulterated passion.

The members of the Buena Vista Social Club may not be young but on stage, they still have a lotta fire, energy and passion in them, which would easily surpass that of people half their age. They have been musicians their whole lives and even after decades, at their age, they are still doing what they love the most.

I am pretty sure that if you had attended any of their live concerts, the amount of energy and hype that they have on stage would be extremely infectious because you can feel the soul in their music.

I believe it is not the obsession with fame, money or glamour (three things in which many people always get caught up with) that got them this far, but pure passion and soul. I have tremendous respect for these giants and legends of Cuban music.
