If you have yet to catch the Pushin' On crew live in action, then you had better not miss this. This is your last chance to catch them and their infectious tunes for 2009 before they take a well-deserved break and also, to prepare more tasty prime cuts of funk for you for 2010. Performing under the Philosophie moniker in Singapore, Matty is bound to the Hundred Schools of Thought of the DJ world. Stirring up the melting pot of old and new, playing anything from Deep House, Funk, Nu-Jazz, Slo-Mo Cosmic, Broken Beats, Boogie, Soul, Dubby Disco, Reggae and Balearic Gems. JDubs:
You may have caught JDubs at his Pushin’On debut last month, where he mercilessly kept punters dancing throughout his 2 hour set of hip-hop and funk. Hailing from Newcastle, Australia, the man scored his first gig only a month after touching a turntable. 10 years later and he is still dropping fine selections of funky numbers mixed for the dancefloor. He has played warm-up sets for Krafty Kuts, Friendly, Kid Kenobi & MC Sureshock, Soul of Man and Drumattic Twins. JDubs will get you.
DJ Chunk & MC Masterpiece:
The Pushin’On residents are evolving into a “live” act in preparation for 2010. You can catch the transformation at Blu Jaz Café with DJ Chunk on the decks and MC Masterpiece on synth, vocals and anything else that makes a cool sound. Still funky and soulful but with more boogie on the bounce.
