Lion City Orchestra:
The Lion City Orchestra is an 8-piece funk & soul band from the creators of Pushin'On, the longest running funk night in Singapore. The LCO has been giving folks furious funk and gritty soul for the past year.
On this night, the LCO will play funk and soul hits from the 60s to the present. They will also perform their unreleased singles such as the soul-stomper "You Ain't Ready", the heart-wrenching "Don't Let a Good Woman Go" and the summertime happy soul of "Until You Say Yes". And this month's special is the debut performance of their new single, "Lion's Walk" PLUS a funky cover of a Prince tune. Funk & soul music, made in the Lion City.
DJ Andrew Mckay:
Andrew Mckay's obsession with records and DJing started in the 80s when he was inspired by the movie Beat Street. He started spinning hip-hop and soul records on Australian radio in 1988. He then moved to New York and worked in Manhattan at EMI Music by day.
He returned to Australia and since then, he has played support spots for DJ Vin Roc, DJ Dexta (Australian DMC Champion) and DJ Craze (World DMC Champion).
